As Senior Legal Counsel,  EMEA, you will join the expanding legal team supporting the business activities of KX mainly focused in EMEA. Your main objective will be to protect the commercial interests of the business. Your experience will include a high level of proficiency when it comes to drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of complex technology contracts and agreements. The role will be multi disciplinary and you may also be the first port of call for any other legal related issues such as working across diverse matters including disputes, regulatory & compliance, exports, competition, security and privacy – so be prepared to be flexible.

You will be a qualified solicitor / lawyer and the suggested minimum level of experience for this role is 8yrs+ PQE.

You will have a natural curiosity to dig into the business and the industry.  You are agile, highly organised and have the skills, drive and flexibility to support a leading technology company that is changing the world, facing cutting-edge legal issues and organisational challenges on multiple fronts. You will also be required to be a problem solver. When faced with the need to ‘push-back’, you can present solutions to the business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate complex non-standard technology agreements. Ability to draft bespoke agreements and terms is required in a time sensitive environment.
  • Provide general legal support to all areas of the business.
  • Advise sales teams on deal process and contract management.
  • Understand software products, software implementation, managed services, cloud services along with data security, and privacy process issues.
  • Guide the sales team during negotiations, and in many other contexts.
  • Assist with standardisation of documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Quickly get up to speed on internal structures, product offerings, technology, and processes.

 

Criteria:

  • Qualified UK or Eire lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience with a minimum if 8 years relevant PQE.
  • Relevant in-house legal experience in the technology sector.
  • High-level negotiation and excellent legal drafting skills.
  • Significant experience of drafting negotiation technology and services related contracts in time sensitive parameters.
  • Solid knowledge of business process gained in-house relating to commercial, contract, intellectual property and data privacy law.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Trust Law and Competition Law.
  • Worked on broader commercial arrangements such as partnerships, OEM agreements, teaming agreements, partnership agreements.
  • Understanding of cloud services, and significant experience of drafting and negotiating cloud software technology and related professional services contracts.
  • Experience in Fintech is preferable along with experience within other industries is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage client expectations (both internal and external) in the face of competing demands.
  • Motivated to be part of a dynamic in-house legal team supporting the recognised leader in processing big data in the cloud.
  • Team player who supports and shares information with the legal team in a collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of Export related compliance is advantageous.
