The Opportunity

We have excellent opportunities for Mid-Senior Software Engineers to join our Global Consulting Practice. At First Derivative we work shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top 20 banks including Morgan Stanley, UBS, Citi Group, JP Morgan, and Credit Suisse to name a few.

Successful candidates will have the chance to partner with our clients, whilst working on cutting-edge technology on a variety of projects across Front Office, Regulatory Reporting, Trade Reconciliation, Data/ Cloud Migration and more!

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Must Haves

Hands on knowledge of Core Java, Collections, Concurrency, Spring framework
Understanding of Microservice architecture developed using Spring Boot.
Experience using development and build tools, ideally: Maven, Gradle, Git, IntelliJ, Eclipse
Experience of fast paced Agile working environments
Understanding of TDD and proficient in writing JUnit testcases
Highly motivated with the desire to explore and learn new technologies and frameworks
Capacity to work efficiently both independently and within a team
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong written and spoken English

Desirable Skills

Good understanding of Java 8+, Lambda, Streams, Functional Interfaces
Hands on knowledge of event driven/Messaging platforms such as Kafka
Proficient in JPA frameworks such as Hibernate and SQL
Understanding of CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Docker
